The Course History of the Surgical Instrument was created with the purpose of transmitting basic knowledge about the history of Surgery and surgical instruments to students of Secondary Education and Higher Education. This training unit was designed to provide the transmission of scientific, technical and technological knowledge and the social and economic implications underlying the origin and evolution of this type of medical instrument and aims to divulge the documentary and museological patrimony of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
